Red Cross Mission
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Preparation
The American Red Cross serves an important role as a first response to many national and international disasters. Our local branch of the organization, ARC USC, assists USC Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness in ensuring our campus and community are prepared for any circumstances.
Education
American Red Cross at USC holds meetings that are structured as presentations by qualified guest speakers. Lectures are often focused around our current international and domestic fundraising efforts. We routinely incorporate disaster preparedness education into our curriculum, with guest speakers such as the Emergency Medical Services of USC and USC Fire Safety staff.
Service
Service events are a staple of the American Red Cross at USC. Our members frequently attend events around the Los Angeles area, serving or packaging food or basic necessities to help combat poverty in our local neighborhoods. All events are carefully selected to be valuable learning experiences and to cultivate a better sense of community with Los Angeles.
